The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Teaser Debuts, Introducing New Characters Rosalina & Bowser Jr. Voice Cast
Nintendo alongside Illumination unveiled the first full-length trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie midweek. This occurred during a dedicated Nintendo presentation that centered on the soon-to-release cartoon movie.
The follow-up to the 2023 hit film The Super Mario Bros. Movie, this new installment will transport Mario to the distant reaches of the cosmos. Along the way, he discovers a new princess and a formidable new rival in Bowser Jr., the offspring of the Koopa King.
A Cosmic Adventure Inspired by Beloved Titles
In the vein of the Wii-era games that provide its foundation, Mario will venture away from the well-known surroundings of the Mushroom Kingdom to journey through the cosmos. Throughout his extensive trek, he will reunite with some well-known personalities, for instance the Luma, a breakout star from the first movie.
But it appears Mario and his brother Luigi will face a fresh enemy in the form of Bowser's furious offspring, who reportedly wields metal-based powers. Interestingly, the trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is not only concentrated on visuals from the Galaxy games; it also features references to additional popular titles like Super Mario Odyssey and Bowser's Fury.
Celebrity Voice Actors Returns and Expands
The film will feature once again of the original voice cast, with Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.
New additions to the ensemble for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie are Brie Larson, who will voice Rosalina, and Benny Safdie, set to represent Bowser Jr. This was confirmed by the CEO of Illumination, Chris Meledandri.
Mario's Major Moment
The upcoming Mario film is planned to debut near the four-decade milestone of the initial Super Mario Bros. release. In addition to the movie, 2026 looks set to be a significant year for Mario and his companions.
Nintendo confirmed a set of three fresh titles already confirmed for 2026, such as Mario Tennis Fever, a Switch 2 edition of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and a latest Yoshi adventure game titled Yoshi and the Mysterious Book.
